Appreciate the hard work and contributions from yourself and other members.Ergh... I need an expense account for coffee!
After countless hours (seriously, I'm glad I didn't keep count) I think we can call the list of QLDGWN sites on page 1 of this thread finally done!

Agreed - a fantastic job by all involved.

It is an epic effort indeed!

Re: [QLD] Government Wireless Network (GWN)
Two new QLDGWN sites have just appeared on the ACMA and have now been added to the list and the map, they are:
CHERMSIDE (Australian Taxation Office cnr Gympie Rd & Banfield St) - ACMA Site: 12618
and
MAROOCHYDORE (Adj Sunshine Plaza, Plaza Parade) - ACMA Site: 50810
I've listed all the frequencies licenced to those sites but no other details yet?

Shopping centre coverage for both...I should be able to check and see if they active tomorrow. Will get back to you.

Thanks Wonky, they were only just licenced on the ACMA so I doubt the gear would even be installed yet, depends how efficient/desperate they are I guess!
So there's a shopping centre in the ATO building?

Re: [QLD] Government Wireless Network (GWN)
Directly opposite is the very large Westfield Chermside.
The site is running as 199 (which was the next available after 198 Mt Alford).
Peers of 101, 108, 145, 151 and 152.
CC of 420.4500 (00-0036) and BUCC 420.0750 (00-0006), sorry didn't take note of NAC
Channels are below (with pic of antenna - a bit hard to make out):
The one up the Sunshine Coast is interesting, I am not sure it is actually fully configured and running from the listed site as yet. The antenna hardware is definitely installed (see pic from this morning). I couldn't get a hit for a control channel from it between 420-425MHz when next to it. However I noticed that two nearby sites 231 Point Cartwright and 232 Buderim both were showing 002-149 COW as a peer (with a CC of 423.2375).
I drove up the hill to Buderim where I was getting a very strong signal on CC 423.2375. Sure enough 002-149 popped up on Unitrunker. It was showing peers of 231, 232, 233 and 234 which are near (site wise) of the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre. None of the channels however seem to match the ACMA listing for the site. I am guessing they have only just installed the site and are perhaps running it as a COW for a bit of testing. I will keep an eye on it anyway:

Re: [QLD] Government Wireless Network (GWN)
Thanks for doing that!
I've added Chermside to the list as site 001-099 and updated the map accordingly.
It's a pretty good bet that Maroochydore (seriously, who comes up with these names?) will be site 002-078 as there aren't any gaps in the zone 2 listing, but I'll wait until that's confirmed before updating the list.
But the above got me wondering about the gaps in the zone 1 list (061, 062, 063, 065, 066, 067, 074 & 092) and why they're there, and why not use one of them for this new site?
Looking at the map they obviously number their sites geographically, so are these missing site numbers slated for locations that haven't been commissioned yet? That might explain why most of them are grouped together, meaning there are probably areas that were supposed to get coverage rather than individual sites?
Or maybe they were originally planned but found to not be needed once other sites were in place, and they don't fill in the gaps because they want to preserve their numbering scheme? But that's gonna get messed up when adding future sites like the two above anyway.

Re: [QLD] Government Wireless Network (GWN)
Updates, updates and more updates!
The previously unidentified site at Maroochydore has now been ID'd as site 002-078 (thanks again to Wonky) and updated on the list and the map.
And two new QLDGWN sites have popped up on the ACMA database in the last couple of days...
CABOOLTURE (Caboolture hospital IBC McKean St) - ACMA Site 10008801
and
BRISBANE CITY (Basement IBC 1 William St) - ACMA Site 10008808
...both also now in the list and on the map. I'm not exactly sure what "IBC" stands for, maybe "In Building something"?
Andrew
EDIT: Forgot to mention that 1 William Street appears to be a government office complex of some description, the map says it houses the Queensland Treasury, Trade & Investment, Dept Natural Resources, etc.

1 William Street is known as the Towers of Power as all 41 floors are occupied by Queensland State Government departments. Even the Premier and her Cabinet have their offices there.Bigfella237 wrote: EDIT: Forgot to mention that 1 William Street appears to be a government office complex of some description, the map says it houses the Queensland Treasury, Trade & Investment, Dept Natural Resources, etc.
